For the last several weeks we have been exploring what it means to be a part of the Fellowship Family in 2010. If you have missed any messages, I really hope that you have gotten them either online or picked up a CD in our Media Center. As we really focus throughout this entire year on the theme of ONE we will discover amazing things from God as we harness the power of focus.
As a church family we can’t do everything. In our busy society we have to decide what is most important and beneficial. We have to eliminate and by eliminating, we discover what is most important. And what is most important? ONE. It has been accurately said that if there was just ONE person on the earth, Jesus still would have died for that ONE person. ONE is valuable.
We are discovering that being a part of Fellowship Church means focusing on ONE. So far, we have emphasized that we are ONE family, that we need to focus on reaching ONE person in 2010, and that we all need to be connected to ONE ministry. This Sunday we will emphasize that we all need to be connected to ONE group. And next Sunday we will emphasize that we all need to make ONE investment into God’s Kingdom and we’ll talk about how to do that specifically next Sunday.
Starting next Sunday, we will all take part in the very special act of recommitting or in some cases committing for the first time to be a member of Fellowship Church. I personally believe that membership matters. It needs to count for something and it needs to require something. In the case of our church it lets all of us know who is really committed to the ministry of Fellowship Church because being a member requires commitment. Are you ready to commit?
Focused on ONE,
Jeff Powell
