ONE is in full swing! I think as we really focus throughout this entire year on the theme of ONE we will discover amazing things from God as we harness the power of focus. I’ve said before and I’ll say it again, focus creates blindness. When we are focused on the things that are important, we become blind to the things that are less important and would normally distract us if we were not focused.
Can we as a church family focus on ONE for an entire year? Can we keep as the banner before us the theme of ONE? I sure hope and pray so.
During this month we are engaged in a five week message series that explains the theme of ONE! Each Sunday we are exploring a different component of ONE that we need to keep as the focus. We are discovering that being a part of Fellowship Church means focusing on ONE Family, ONE Person, ONE Ministry, ONE Group, and ONE Investment.
Everything in the Christian life revolves around commitment. God committed His Son to be the sacrifice for us. Jesus committed Himself willingly to be the sacrifice. We then commit our all to Him as we surrender our lives to Him and as we seek to follow Him daily in our Christian walk. And then we commit ourselves to our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ as we live in Christian community with one another.
I want to encourage you to be sure to get each of the 5 ONE messages this month. If you’ve missed any, you can get them on the web or you can get a CD on Sunday. Then at the end of January or beginning of February, you will be able to make the powerful step of recommitting or in some cases committing for the first time to be a member of Fellowship Church.
