Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother’s Day to all moms on Sunday! The older I get, the more thankful I am for the wonderful gift of Mothers. Your tender touch, gentle words, loving smile, and comforting guidance is needed more now than ever.

The gift of Motherhood is just that – a gift. And a gift is something to be celebrated, something to be cherished, and something to be appreciated. I encourage you to simply thank your mom on Sunday for being a gift to you. Sure she was not perfect, but you would not be here today without her – that alone deserves a huge “thank you” in today’s society!

For over 12 years now I have watched my wife grow and develop as a mom. I have watched her calm brewing sibling storms. I have watched her stop crying eyes. I have watched her comfort fearful children. Sleepless nights have been spent. Sicknesses have been healed. Clothes have been cleaned. And hungry, grumpy mouths have been fed thousands upon thousands of times. I guess you could say I am very proud of the mom Jane has become!

I am also proud of the fact that May 7 marks the two-year anniversary of Jane serving Fellowship Church as our Pre-school Director. She has served faithfully for two years as a volunteer staff member. Countless hours have been invested in our little ones through her efforts. And many wonderful, positive changes have been made in our children’s ministry through her leadership.

Even though she is a volunteer staff member, she leads one of the largest ministries in our church. This has been done because you have given her your support and your volunteerism. I want to thank those of you in children’s ministry for following Jane’s leadership. And thank you Jane for providing leadership to our Pre-school Ministry!

Loving and Leading,

Jeff Powell
